Monterey Bay Whale Sighting
It was a very nice day to paddle, a little choppy at first. We put out at Lovers Point and went to the Point Pinos bouy. We returned to Lovers point and had a snack and a rest. Anne and Jim Cosgrove decided to call it a day and the other 3 of us decided to head back out for a bit. I had almost given up on seeing a whale when after we had been back in the water for about 20 minutes Dave spotted a blow hole. He shouted and I looked slightly to the left in front of me and there was a whale. It resurfaced about 3 times and was about a 100 feet away each time. It made the whole day worth while. I wonder do they have whales any where around further up north? I am very much wanting to try a completely new spot to kayak and was thinking about checking out the some of the areas in or around the San Fransisco Bay. Any suggestions or any one interested for next weekend let me know. No capsizes today!!!
